Shannon Mccambridge joined AGB Search in September 2014. Since then, she has excelled in partnering with governing boards of Catholic and faith-based institutions to lead and ensure successful transitions in approximately 50 presidential and executive leadership searches. With a broad professional background, including strong employment law knowledge, MBA and undergraduate teaching experience, and 16 years as a Gonzaga University Trustee (now Trustee Emerita), her leadership experience and expertise bring added value to addressing client search needs nationwide.

Experience and Honors
 
McCambridge’s professional background includes practicing employment law and teaching in the Business Schools of three Catholic Universities---most recently Seattle University. As an employment law attorney, McCambridge advised clients on a wide spectrum of employment-related issues, mediated and litigated before state and federal courts and administrative agencies and published in the employment law field (e.g., "Third-party Retaliation: The Shoes of an Employer,” Atlanta’s John Marshall Law Journal, 2013). Since 2017, she has provided interactive “Bias Awareness and Ethical Decision-making Workshops” to search clients to not only educate on the existence of unconscious bias, but to provide “selection safeguards” for maintaining search process integrity.

As a recognized leader in the higher education selection process, McCambridge’s insights can be found in the following AGB Trusteeship articles: “What Is the Key to a New President’s Success?” (May/June 2022) and “Effective Transition Planning: The Foundation for Presidential Success” (July/August 2023). McCambridge is also a Senior Executive Governance Consultant with AGB. In this capacity, she advises clients on such topics as: board chair-president relationships, strategic planning, innovation, managing change, fiduciary duties, risk management, etc.  She co-facilitates AGB’s annual three-day Institute for New Board Chairs and Presidents. Speaking engagements for other higher education associations include AGB’s National Conference on Trusteeship, the Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities, the Hispanic Leadership Institute, and the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities.
